How to do what you love with Kia Cannons, an Abstract Artist, Empowerment Coach, Creative Entrepreneur, Speaker, Host of UK top 3 wellness podcast, Happy Hacks, and a columnist for Psychologies Magazine. Kia believes you should do what you love with your one, wild life and seeks to empower women with the tools to step into their true potential through her monthly coaching membership, Untold Happiness.

Session 1

In this video we explore doing what you hate, why we do it and why it’s not worth it. You’ll be given your first little exercise to get on the right track if you want to do what you love, or think you do, but would like to be totally sure!

 In this week’s video Kia’s sets you another exercise – to ask yourself ‘What activities do I enjoy where I lose track of time?’ Noticing which activities or experiences cause you to drop into a ‘state of flow’ is extremely important information when embarking to a career where you get to do what you love. So grab a journal and a pen, listen to the 5 minute video and start discovering more of what lights you up!

How to chart a course to your purpose In this video you will be learning how to begin to tune into your feelings, which is a muscle you need to start flexing, as your feelings are what will chart the course of your passion and purpose. One of the easiest ways to start tuning in to your feelings, is to notice your negative feelings in this video we explore some key questions you need to ask yourself. Questions to ask yourself: What did I feel like last year that really bugged me? What things bugged me last year, and why? How was I feeling overall during the last 6 months? A surprising question that can unlock your dream life! This week you are just one question to answer in my Do What You Love series, and it’s a super powerful one. 

This week you have one simple task, which is to sit down with a journal and some quiet and ask yourself;

‘Who do I envy?’

Then start writing. Write down all the people you envy and then all the reasons why.

Therein lies the life you want to lead. 

The wonderful thing about envy is that it is a great teacher. It teaches you what is possible for your life (the people you envy are proofs it’s possible to do, be or have anything you desire). 

So, take 10 minutes to yourself and find out what you envy!

The magic intersection that reveals your purpose! This week I share the magic intersection between your beliefs, skills and interests that enable you to jump onto the path to your purpose. As much of the country finds itself in lockdown right before Christmas, this week I’m sharing a video I posted back in the first lockdown on using art as therapy during tough times. Today also marks the Winter Solstice which serves as a reminder to hunker down to rest and relax. Find your happy place through creative play. It will relax and inspire you to switch off from thinking about the lockdown and boost your wellbeing.

Why I think now is the perfect time to reassess your work and get on the path towards your purpose. We have collectively been shaken up by the reality that nothing is guaranteed in life or work in 2020. As many of us are reconsidering our jobs and lifestyles I want to offer ways to slowly begin to slowly explore the possibility of doing what you love in 2021!

This weeks is about going deeper with exploring your curiosity and uncovering the curiosities are you ignoring the most Questions in the video to ask yourself: What am I passionately interested in? What have I always said I would return to that I used to do in my childhood? What did I want to do as a child that I never gave myself permission to explore?

Questions to ask yourself this week. There will be many things you will have learned about yourself as a result of lockdown. This week I encourage you to take a little time to audit what you learned. Questions to ask yourself from this video are: Is there anything about my quarantine experience that I’d like to keep? What did I learn about the kind of lifestyle I enjoy? What can I now let go of?
